What
We Do
KHS History & Background
Founded in
, the Ketchikan Humane Society (KHS) is the primary animal adoption and
animal rescue southern SE Alaska. The Idaho Humane Society has been
located in Ketchikan, Alaska.
Adoption Services
Our successful adoption program matches homeless animals with
responsible people seeking wonderful, loving pets. Our animals are
adopted, not sold. The nominal adoption fee includes an initial
vaccination and mandatory spaying or neutering of every dog and cat
adopted.
Education
We supply speakers to schools, civic organizations, and other interested
groups. Speakers discuss various animal-related issues with emphasis on
caring for pets responsibly and lovingly. In most cases, a shelter
animal accompanies the speaker, giving audiences a chance to see
firsthand the remarkable animals available for adoption from the KHS
shelter.
