The Ketchikan Humane Society rescues many abused animals every year. We rely on your tax-deductible donations to support our rescue efforts. Foster Animal Donations
Want to help a foster animal but unable to adopt or become a foster parent? You can also help by making a donation toward an animal's adoption fee. Any amount that you donate will help and we will apply it directly toward the adoption fee of any foster animal of your choosing. Your donation will make a difference!

We need your help! Please donate your unwanted, clean, doghouse or unused building supplies to the Ketchikan Humane Society so we can build doghouses for distribution to low-income dog owners who cannot afford to provide their dog with a shelter.

We cannot pick up donated doghouses or materials from private homes. Please bring them to the Ketchikan Humane Society, 12034 N Tongass Ave, or call 907-225-3647,

We Need:

  • New, or gently used doghouses
  • Building Supplies to Make Doghouses
  • Exterior grade plywood
  • 2x4 lumber
  • 12 penny, galvanized, common nails
  • 7/8" galvanized roofing nails
  • Mineral surface roll roofing or shingles
  • Light color exterior house paint (no lead-based paint please)

Do you have a knack for construction and the tools to get the job done? Volunteer to build doghouses! This is a great project for a business or club.
